March 29, 2008 - Between 8 and 9 pm tonight, we are asked to turn off all lights and non-essential appliances to mark Earth Hour, an international event that promotes electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions. Earth Hour first began in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, and this year, cities around the world are participating in this environmental clause (even google darkened its website to mark the cause).Enviro-boy here encourages you to do your part by turning off all the lights in your house for just one hour tonight. While this one hour will probably not reduce electricity consumption by THAT much, it will at least be symbolic and raise more awareness on energy conservation.
I'm excited to see all the pictures from this event - it should be interesting to see what downtown will look like completely dark, the first time that it has been since our infamous blackout in 2003.

i was downtown!!! but i was stuck inside the library... which made no effort to dim their lights... but then again, it's a library and it's almost exam time... so... meh...
and no one was at home so my entire house was dark... yay for doing my part! haha
i can't quite recall..did u do ur part?
of course i did my part! my room was dark the entire night!
